An account of devotion to a cause

This must be one of the most moving documentaries I have ever seen, an emotional account of one of the most important Swedish bands during my teenage years: Broder Daniel. Not for me personally (I was busy listening to euro techno and Puff Daddy), but for many many people that felt out of place in the boredom of small town Sweden. I haven’t cried while watching anything since The Diving Bell And The Butterfly until I saw this, it has sadness and hope, but most importantly, captures the uncompromising nature of a band that had one of the most intense followings of any Swedish band. Broder Daniel became a way of life for many people, more than just music, this documentary manages to capture that in a remarkable way. mostly through sweeping views of summer Göteborg. Watch the whole thing via this link on SVT Play until May 15th. Its in Swedish but the photography and music (in English) speaks all languages.
